The Minister Who Defied Fate

Xiao Yi, a top student of modern history, wakes up in the body of Xiao Jingchen, the legitimate son of the infamous villainous Chancellor of the Dayao Dynasty. In the history books, he is the treacherous minister who was torn apart by Ling Yunxiao, the "Son of Heaven's Mandate," and sentenced to death by a thousand cuts.

He knows the story well: Ling Yunxiao has fortune on his side. He stumbles upon secret manuals wherever he goes and meets benefactors whenever he is in danger, rising from a poor scholar to become a great sage emperor. Meanwhile, Xiao Jingchen is born with a "black sheep constitution." Whatever he does, people call him a scourge who brings ruin to the nation, and even his own father hopes he will die soon.

At court, every official sees him as a thorn in their side and opposes him at every turn, yet they turn a blind eye to Ling Yunxiao's mistakes. Among the people, everyone believes Ling Yunxiao is their "savior" and calls Xiao Jingchen a "monster." Even when he secretly provides disaster relief, he is branded as someone who is "buying popular support." Even the world's fortune favors Ling Yunxiao: every deadly trap Xiao Jingchen lays is somehow defused by Ling Yunxiao through "coincidence," and every plot point Xiao Jingchen plants somehow becomes a stepping stone for him.

"The Mandate of Heaven? Just a fig leaf for the weak!"

To survive, Xiao Jingchen puts away every trace of warmth and acts with the ruthlessness of a villain. He stirs up turmoil at court and dismantles Ling Yunxiao's "alliance of justice." He lays a vast chessboard and cuts off the so-called "lucky chances of fate." He climbs over countless bones, ready to be cursed by the whole world if that is what it takes to tear apart the "will of heaven" hiding behind its false facade.

This is a one-man war, a fight against fate and all mankind. In the end, he stands at the pinnacle of power, alone, gazing out over the vast realm with a smile. The history books may call him a treacherous minister, but he won. He defeated the world that was destined to destroy him.
