The Nuo Mask's Endgame: I Become a God Through Contamination

[Rule-Based Horror + Folk Horror + Devouring Evolution]

Countdown: 00:09:47. Three red incense sticks are burning even more fiercely than joss paper!

Outside the car window, a toll collector wearing a Nuo mask gnaws on a human leg. Brain matter drips from between its fangs onto the steering wheel.

The car radio crackles to life with rules of death:

❶ Stare at the Nuo mask for more than ten seconds, and your eyeballs belong to me.

❷ If you don't reach the Nuo temple before the incense burns out, you'll be burned as firewood.

I floor the accelerator, smash through the guardrail, and send it flying. In the rearview mirror, black maggots writhe into a bloody countdown.

In the passenger seat, a gray haze creeps across my sister's pupils. She murmurs softly:

"Bro, it says the next scene... is boiling the stand-in."

Cornered, I swing a wrench and smash a living corpse's skull

Ice needles burrow into my veins, and an inhuman laugh wells up in my throat:

"I'm doing you a favor. How about I make your soul vanish?!"

I devour the corruption of the rules, and the crazier I get, the stronger I become!

But when the lid flies off the boiling pot in the Nuo temple...

The heads bobbing in the water all have my face!

The "protective Nuo mask" I personally begged for has grown into my sister's nape, fused with her flesh and bone, and become a coffin.

A blood-red ticket ignites in my palm:

[Final Act: Deicide Through Kin-Slaying]

She rises onto her toes and offers me a bone-shaving knife. Her childish voice mingles with a demon's howl:

"Kill me, and you can live..."

Then I'll devour every last taint of this Nuo opera and tread upon the gods' remains

To reclaim the soul that calls me brother!
