Memory's Woven Strings: Forgetting and Being Reborn

[Memory Magic + Blank Ones + Memory Weavers + Memory Keepers + Ensemble Cast + No System] In Esos, memory is the thread of magic: joy is woven into warm light, pain crystallizes into blades, and the memories of a people anchor mountains and rivers. But taking too much can cause forgetfulness, the collapse of civilization, and even the unraveling of reality. Kane is a “Blank One,” his memories transparent and impossible to alter, making him a thorn in the side of the “Hand of Annihilation.” With no past to call his own, the young man flees after his village is destroyed. Along the way, he meets Lyra, a Memory Weaver who can see the colored patterns of memories and once made her mother forget her, leaving her burdened with guilt; Glen, a Memory Keeper who seals memories with his life and grows a little older each time he reads one; and Mok, an orc stripped of fear whose battle-axe can devour the memories of its targets’ skills. They cross the misty marshes where memories are fading and the creatures have forgotten their instincts for survival. They pass a fallen sky-city that once floated on the strength of its people’s shared memories, but now crumbles as those memories run dry. Their journey gradually reveals the truth: the world’s “Original Memory” is the foundation woven from the Creator’s own memories. Valerius, the leader of the Hand of Annihilation, is a Memory Weaver who lost everything in the flames of war. Now he seeks to seize all memories and weave a fantasy world with “no pain, but no freedom.” The final battle erupts at the altar of Original Memory, forcing them to choose: protect the diversity of memory, or let the world become its prisoner. A blank slate is never nothingness. It is a new story waiting to be written.
