When the street racers begin to suspect Takagi has “gone soft,” when debt collectors come knocking at Yingying’s home, and when the two keep meeting amid the neon lights of Dotonbori and outside the old post office at Tsutenkaku, the past hidden beneath the roar of engines and the backs bent by the weight of life finally spark an unexpected connection in each other’s eyes.

This is a story about redemption and being redeemed: he uses speed to fight the world, while she uses stubbornness to defy fate. And as the roar of engines mingles with the scent of cherry blossoms, two souls who should never have crossed paths are heading toward
