Space in the 1980s: The He Family's Little Chef

He Wan, a modern supermarket buyer, opens her eyes to find herself transmigrated into a widow whose husband has just died in 1978. Her home is bare, she owes money for food, her bedridden mother-in-law lies beside her, and three timid little ones are with them: six-year-old Tai Nian, four-year-old Tai Wang, and two-year-old Tai Nuo.

Luckily, she has brought along a “Warehouse of All Things” space and a “Prosperous Household System.” She has rice, flour, oil, and special medicines, and knows how to cook delicious food and make money. From wild-vegetable dumplings to improved home-style dishes, she first fills the children’s bellies, then rekindles her mother-in-law’s will to live. At last, they have something to look forward to.

Then Tai Zhan’s comrade, Tai Yan, returns after leaving the army. This taciturn, tough man is wary of her at first, but gradually warms to her competence and sincere devotion to the Tai family. He becomes her “bodyguard and business partner” as she opens a shop and farms.

Good food warms the stomach, and kindness warms the heart. Watch He Wan and her whole family savor one delicious dish after another as she turns hard times into sweet ones in the springtime of the seventies.
