Miracle Hands: The Barefoot Doctor of the Mountain Village

After graduating from medical school, Lin Weidong is sent to Qingshan Village to work as a barefoot doctor because of his family background. Drawing on lost traditional Chinese remedies and his knowledge of Western medicine, he treats villagers for headaches, fevers, sprains, and other ailments. He goes from being met with skepticism to becoming the “miracle doctor” the whole village depends on. In an era of scarce doctors and medicine, he writes an ordinary yet passionate story of healing in a mountain village.
