Synopsis

Underworld Civil Servant: Ouyang Yizhong manages the Book of Life and Death in the Underworld. For a thousand years, day in and day out, he has recorded the life and death of every soul in the mortal world. Though meticulous in his work, he has gradually grown numb to it.

An Anomalous Entry: Ouyang Yizhong discovers an anomaly in the Book of Life and Death: a girl named Lin Xiaoman was supposed to die at the age of seven, yet she has lived to twenty, breaking the book's rules.

Investigating a Violation: Out of a sense of duty, Ouyang Yizhong decides to go to the mortal world in person and investigate this anomaly, finding out why the rules of the Book of Life and Death have been broken.
