The Reborn Blade at Di Renjie's Side: Detective Di Chun's Record of Clearing Injustices

When the soul of Yang Xiu, a gifted scholar of Jian’an, was reborn in the body of Di Chun, Judge Di’s steward, a thousand years of wisdom and deadly brilliance converged in the prosperous Tang dynasty. Yang Xiu, who had met his end at Cao Cao’s hand over his “chicken ribs” remark, awoke with memories of the Three Kingdoms, only to find himself an unremarkable servant in the Di household. Beneath the scar on his temple lay an uncanny knack for solving cases across time; in the old mark on his chest lingered a warning from his past life about the dangers of showing off his talent. Di Renjie noticed that his steward was a different man. He could identify a lost Western Regions poison technique from lividity, use an abacus to retrace a killer’s thoughts, and even solve medical mysteries with his outlandish “functional five elements” theory. In bizarre cases involving the sudden deaths of a Turkic delegation and a string of murders tied to counterfeit medicine, Di Chun (Yang Xiu) repeatedly displayed startling insight, but his old habits nearly brought disaster upon him. Through three tests, “Poisoned Ginseng to Test His Soul,” “Exposing His Intelligence with a False Identity,” and “A Fake Execution to Break His Resolve,” Judge Di honed this “thousand-year-old chicken rib” into a blade that concealed its edge. As the schemes of the Wolf Guards and the conspiracies of the Snake Spirit emerged one after another, Di Chun gradually changed under the influence of Yuan Fang’s bravery, Ru Yan’s quick wit, and Zeng Tai’s knowledge of the law. From an arrogant scholar, he grew into a brilliant detective’s assistant who understood the value of seeming foolish. At last, with his abacus as his brush and the law as his blade, he wrote a legend of clearing the wrongly accused in the height of the Tang dynasty: “An old ghost from Cao Cao’s camp, a new blade at Judge Di’s side, dedicated to slaying the demons among men.”
