Draw Tang into My Embrace

The night the college entrance exams ended, rain poured down in sheets. Yan Xing stood blocking the entrance to the convenience store, holding an umbrella. Water dripped from his hair, but he stayed close, keeping her sheltered beneath it. “Have you filled out your college applications?” His Adam’s apple brushed the top of her head as he spoke, and his thumb rubbed her earlobe. “If you dare not apply to Jing University, I’ll...” Before he could finish, he suddenly lowered his head and bit the corner of her lips, as if savoring a melting milk candy. “I’ll tie you up in my lab and make you my very own little rice cake.” “Call me A Yan, got it?” He held her waist and pressed her against a ginkgo tree, his nose brushing the jasmine scent in her hair. “If you call me the wrong thing again, I’ll keep kissing you until you say it.” Passing students burst into laughter. Her face flushed as she hit his shoulder, but his kisses left her weak, the sweetness of mint candy melting between their lips. Only later did she learn that he had already broken every rule for her. The autumn wind turned the pages of a book, and his white shirt held her warmth. The sweetness of mint candy mingled with the crisp scent of cedar. The Yan family’s young master, once rumored to be “cold as ice,” had finally bent down for his darling, holding her whole world in the palm of his hand. “From now on, I’ll pave my path only for you, all the way to our old age.”
