Love in Old Shanghai

Shanghai, 1935. Shen Qingru, daughter of a Suzhou embroidery family, enters the bustling foreign concessions to investigate her father's disappearance, and crosses paths with Lu Jingchen, the seemingly carefree son of a banker. As a crisis at her embroidery shop collides with a financial conspiracy, and a moonlit confession is followed by the revelation of hidden identities, two guarded hearts gradually draw closer amid the flames of war. From the cafés of Avenue Joffre to the smoke of Waibaidu Bridge, from moonlight in Suzhou's gardens to gunfire at Sihang Warehouse, they make a vow to the tune of “Ye Lai Xiang”: if they cannot live together, they will die together in the morning light over the Huangpu River.
