The Jade-Locking Fate of the Qing Palace

Title: The Jade Pendant’s Secret in the Qing Palace

Synopsis:

Qiu Yingying, a modern architectural restoration specialist, was repairing an artifact in the Forbidden City when she accidentally touched a mysterious jade pendant carved with a dragon. She transmigrated to the Forbidden City in the early years of the Qianlong reign. From a panicked intruder, she became mistaken for a newly arrived palace maid from the embroidery workshop. Her knowledge of Qing history and culture helped her muddle through, but an encounter in the imperial garden caught the attention of Emperor Qianlong.

The emperor was drawn to this unusual palace maid. She was skilled in painting and calligraphy but claimed to be uncultured; she knew court etiquette inside out but often did the unexpected. Her conversation brimmed with strange and fascinating ideas he had never heard before. As they spoke again and again, their discussions ranged from art to the principles of governing, sparking countless ideas. Qiu Yingying’s modern perspective opened new horizons for Qianlong, while his talent and ambition showed her a living emperor unlike the one she had encountered in history books.

But the inner palace was never a place for romance and beauty. The jealousy of Imperial Noble Consort Nala, the doubts of court officials, the Empress Dowager’s scrutiny, and the jade pendant that seemed to conceal the secret of her transmigration all drew Qiu Yingying into the heart of a maelstrom. When love clashed with the course of history, and staying meant changing the future while leaving meant losing her beloved forever, Qiu Yingying faced the hardest choice of her life.
