The Wind-Slaying Blade of the Streets

On the streets and in the alleys of Jianghai City, a courier in work clothes and a battered baseball cap is always zipping by on an electric bike: Han Wushuang, nicknamed “Wimpy Wushuang.” When customers give him a hard time, he can only scratch his head and smile apologetically. When carrying packages, he can even drop a cardboard box crooked. No one knows that the rusty trinket at his waist is the Nine-Ring Wind-Slaying Saber, with seven of its rings broken. No one knows that this fearsome weapon, once enough to strike terror into the martial world, is now wrapped in cheap tape and gathering dust with its owner in a corner of the courier station’s warehouse.

Twenty years ago, the Nine-Ring Sect was massacred by the Bone-Erosion Sect. A five-year-old boy faked his death, vanished into the streets, and secretly trained in the incomplete volume of Nine Transformations of the Startling Waves. Now poisonous fog has returned to the night market, and the sinister laughter beneath a bronze ghost mask shatters the peace. The Bone-Erosion Sect’s four guardians have arrived with poison to wipe out every last trace. In Yuntai Pavilion’s auction house, a white-clad doctor grips a bloodied scalpel, staring pensively at a familiar scar. As silver needles rise and fall in the Shadow Tattoo Parlor, eyes beneath a silver crow-headed mask lock onto the figure bending down to pick up a package.
