A Drunken Merchant's Journey in the Tang

After a bizarre accident, bartender Li Shun transmigrates to the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Using his modern bartending skills, he catches the emperor’s attention and briefly enjoys boundless favor and glory. But a tree that towers above the forest is bound to be battered by the wind. Jealous nobles repeatedly scheme against him, forcing Li Shun to leave the palace.

After leaving the palace, Li Shun tries to build a business empire with what he knows, but he underestimates the complexity of the commercial world and suffers one setback after another, until he falls into hardship. Just as he is utterly disheartened, Li Duo’er, the daughter of the Li family, enters his life. She not only admires Li Shun’s talent, but also stands by him when he is down, giving him her wholehearted support and encouragement.

With his wife by his side, Li Shun regains his resolve and carefully builds his business by combining modern commercial ideas with the characteristics of the Tang Dynasty. Starting with a tavern, he gradually branches into various industries and grows his business until he becomes a renowned merchant in Chang’an. He writes a dramatic legend of a life, and together with Li Duo’er, leaves behind a celebrated love story in the prosperous city of Chang’an.
