In the War of Resistance, Serving One's Country Is a Blessing

On a rainy night in Nanjing in 1931, Lu Chengzhou grips a rusted pocket watch tightly. In the twenty-first century, he took apart countless bridge blueprints. Now he must personally drive this city into the pivotal points of history. Steel piles for a cascade hydropower station lie beneath the Yangtze’s hidden channels. Scrap metal from the Hanyang Arsenal is tempered in molds into rifling. Even the ruts left by rickshaws conceal the coordinates of wartime railways. Some laugh and call him mad, never knowing he has spent ten years forging a steel floodgate. When the Japanese finally crash into it, they will discover that these sparks across the river are really detonators planted seven years ago.
