Shen Gongbao’s Investiture of the Gods Project White Paper

A divine workplace comedy, a different kind of Investiture of the Gods. Shen Gongbao, a small-town exam ace, is a leopard spirit who endured countless trials to take human form. He passed the Chan Sect’s entrance exam and spent years listening to lectures and pursuing the Dao at Yuxu Palace. Though he never slacked off in his cultivation, he was never given a chance to shine. Then one day, Yuxu Palace suddenly closed its doors and halted its lectures. Shen Gongbao and his roommate, senior brother Jiang Ziya, were secretly summoned by Yuanshi Tianzun. Their master told them that the Human Path, the Chan Sect, and the Jie Sect had jointly signed the Investiture of the Gods. Since the two had high ideological awareness and strong professional skills, the organization had selected them as project managers for the Investiture of the Gods initiative. Their task was to plan the onboarding and placement of 365 deities to serve in the Heavenly Court and make sure the process went smoothly. Once they successfully completed the assignment, generous performance rewards in the form of Daoist merit would be theirs, and they might even attain the Great Dao and rank among the Golden Immortals. Shen Gongbao thought that, with the bigwigs of all three sects backing the project, all he had to do was follow the process step by step. But as the work progressed, it became entangled in all sorts of karmic ties, and even the Western Sect got involved. The leaders of the three sects went from covert power plays to openly falling out and flipping the table, and the situation spiraled further and further out of control… Can the project still pass inspection and be wrapped up successfully? Will he still get those promised performance rewards? Shen Gongbao is beginning to realize that his path to becoming a Golden Immortal seems more and more out of reach…
