My Not-Quite-Brother Is Addicted to Bossing Me Around

A letter came from Nanyu. I hope this letter finds you well: When you're young, you think knowing someone must be earth-shattering. The past you never talk about becomes something you save each other from. The letter begins with how Zhuyu and Jiang Nanche had been together for a year, yet only met in their second year of high school, after their families were brought together. In the letter, Jiang Nanche, the top student in the class, personally tutors Zhuyu, who ranks last. Fate lets Zhuyu glimpse Jiang Nanche's world, and she works hard to draw closer to it. Being good at school is simply the least-mentioned of his many advantages in a prominent family. Little by little, Zhuyu comes to admire Jiang Nanche's self-discipline and begins to study and live as he does. At the same time, she discovers the shadow his father left over his youth. But after the college entrance exam, the two classmates who seemed most like a couple disappear from each other's lives. By the end of the letter, one has become a powerful executive, while the other has married into a wealthy family and become a rich man's wife. They are both tactful enough not to bring up high school. But when Zhuyu reaches for the green pepper in front of Jiang Nanche, he gives an unhappy cough. Zhuyu snorts and insists on taking it. In front of their old classmates, Jiang Nanche taps the back of her hand with his chopsticks and says, "You're pregnant. You can't eat that." Nanyu has a letter. It is the letter of Changde's honors class, and it belongs to Jiang Nanche and Zhuyu alone.
