On the Day the Company Goes Public, My Girlfriend Fires Its Biggest Investor

After helping the company go public, my CEO girlfriend finally planned to reveal who I was.

But her young assistant, who had never gotten along with me, stepped onto the stage first. He put an arm around my girlfriend's waist and said smugly,

"Didn't we agree to wait a few more years? Couldn't you even wait this little while?"

My girlfriend didn't explain. Instead, she handed him a share transfer agreement and announced in front of everyone that he was now a new shareholder.

The crowd erupted in shock, then started cheering them on.

The young assistant kicked me while I was down, making snide remarks.

My girlfriend not only didn't stop him, but said coldly, "You've helped the company a lot, but he's exceptionally capable. Only he can take the company further."

Instead of getting angry, I nodded in agreement and generously handed all my shares over to the young assistant, too.

I was curious to see

how they'd take the company further without me, its biggest investor.
