The Xue Family Generals

This book recounts the legendary tales of the Xue family’s generals, including Xue Rengui, Xue Dingshan, and Fan Lihua, as they defend the frontier against invaders and serve their country with unwavering loyalty. Armed from head to toe, Rengui rides across the battlefield and earns outstanding merit. But treacherous villains frame him, and he is thrown into the imperial prison and sent to the execution ground, narrowly escaping death time and again. Just then, Western Liang invades. The emperor leads a punitive expedition in person and appoints Rengui commander, only for the army to become trapped at Suoyang Pass. Rengui’s son, Dingshan, is ordered to go and rescue them as deputy marshal. He captures passes and assaults cities, overcoming one peril after another. Fan Lihua, a heroine who puts righteousness above family ties, marries Dingshan and helps the Tang forces counterattack. Dingshan first divorces her, then asks her to return, setting off a series of twists and turns. At last, the Tang army crushes the forces of Western Liang and brings peace to the realm.
