I Regretted It After My Best Friend Jumped

A few minutes before my best friend jumped to her death, she sent me a video and a message.

“Could you grab the phone I left on the rooftop? Thanks.”

The video showed where she had left it.

Sensing something was wrong, I dropped the half-eaten piece of bread in my hand and hurried from the second floor to the rooftop on the seventeenth.

But in the time it took to go up and come back down, the world had turned upside down.

Thud!

I knelt before her body and wept in silence, but I didn't dare look at her again.
