Reborn, I Kicked the Boy into the River

I once saved a young chess prodigy who was about to take his own life and secretly hid him in the tea room.

Later, he taught me to read and write, play chess, and appreciate music. We became the closest people in the world to each other.

I spent all my savings, and the villagers joined forces to help him reach the pinnacle of success.

But the day he became famous throughout the land was the day our entire village was slaughtered!

At last, I managed to escape the room where I was imprisoned and ran barefoot through the rain to find him.

A sharp blade flashed from its sheath, and in an instant, blood streamed from my throat.

Tears of regret slid from the corners of my eyes. As my consciousness faded, all I saw was a pair of pale yellow boots stopping before me.
