After I Died, the Emperor Finally Admitted He Loved Me

When I married Chen Junjing, he was still the despised, wretched Fifth Prince, someone anyone could trample underfoot.

Everyone said the Fifth Prince and his wife were childhood sweethearts, deeply devoted to each other.

But we both knew I was nothing more than a pawn the Crown Prince used to keep him in check.

For three years, I devoted all my strength to him, hoping that on the day the Crown Prince ascended the throne, he would spare us both.

Who could have foreseen such a sudden upheaval? The late emperor died, and with the powerful chancellor's support, he took the throne! I was the only one left unharmed in the palace, and was even named Consort Shen.

They say the emperor is benevolent. Forced to kneel outside the door and copy Buddhist scriptures, I was already numb with grief.

But he raised my chin with a careless touch, gripping so hard he left a red mark, his whole body trembling with rage.

“Song Jinhe, now that things have come to this, do you know what you did wrong?”

What meaning could there be in asking that now? I have only a few months left to live.

If one day he finally learns how I feel, will he be sad?
