Napoleon and Europe: The Conquest of an Empire (Full-Color Edition) tells the story of a sweeping revolution that thrust Napoleon Bonaparte, an ordinary native of Corsica, to the forefront of his age. From then on, this unimposing, short soldier shone brilliantly on Europe's historical stage. Even as Parisian high society indulged in extravagant luxury, and his lover Josephine dazzled with unmatched beauty, this military giant, born for war, never paused for a moment. For more than twenty years, he dominated the battlefields of Europe. Although the Battle of Waterloo brought Napoleon Bonaparte's advance to a halt, the supreme glory of the French emperor, the Napoleonic Code that shaped Europe for a century, and the verses of the poet of the lakeside and the praises of Goethe will ensure that history remembers this legendary hero forever.
Napoleon was truly a military genius and invincible on the battlefield. His courage and wisdom are admirable. However, I kind of hate Josephine. Although she is beautiful, she is extravagant. However, this book is still worth reading. It made me understand the history of that era better.
