The Legendary Figure of Mount Tai, Shi Gandang

When Pangu created heaven and earth, his head became Mount Tai, the Eastern Peak. Pangu breathed his last breath onto a boulder on the mountain, granting it spiritual energy. After absorbing the essence of heaven and earth on Mount Tai for countless years, the boulder was shaken open during a battle between the Great Emperor of the Eastern Peak and Yuanjun of Disha. A sweet little baby boy emerged, and, as luck would have it, a woodcutter who happened to see him took him home.

From childhood, the boy could see things invisible to ordinary people. He became Shi Gandang, a demon-slayer who specialized in vanquishing monsters and evil spirits. At first, everyone thought Shi Gandang was a monster and wanted to burn him alive. Demons seized control of the Heavenly Court and even tried to use Shi Gandang to attack the Buddhist realm. In the end, after overcoming tremendous hardships, Shi Gandang crushed the demons, monsters, ghosts, and spirits beneath Mount Tai.
