Ji Gong Roams the Mortal World

A newlywed couple were in the middle of their wedding ceremony when lightning suddenly boomed and struck the groom. Memories of his past life appeared before his eyes. He was the Dragon-Subduing Venerable, and the Buddha had foreseen that a great demon would soon appear and ordered him to find it. But after a few too many drinks, he stumbled drunkenly into a maternity ward and became a baby. He dashed up a mountain and obtained two treasures, a broken fan and a gourd, though each could only be used three times a day. He was still a mere mortal, with no magic or martial arts, and endured countless injustices. He was injured by monsters time and again, until immortals came to his aid and granted him a tenth of his former power. As time passed, his cultivation and strength gradually returned. He roamed the mortal world, slaying demons and monsters and protecting ordinary people.
