Synopsis of Wolong Sheng’s wuxia novel, The Flower-Shaking Eagle: Su Bailing longed to find an equal in the world, but never did. Arrogant in his youth and fiercely competitive in middle age, he had no confidante he considered worthy and no enemy who could fight him with all they had. With his abundant talents left with nowhere to shine, he played a joke on the martial world of future generations. He poured his pent-up gloom and suffering into building an underground fortress, leaving behind two plans, one righteous and one evil. Whoever obtained the evil plan could quickly dominate the martial world; whoever obtained the righteous plan would find the means to counter it. In this way, the “Young Master of a Hundred Flowers” could use others to create an era and then destroy it. Su Bailing recorded his swordsmanship in a secret chamber deep in the mountains. A hundred years later, Jin Yuanqing, an eccentric righteous martial artist whose heroic reputation had spread far and wide, was wrongly accused and hunted by the “Nine Great Sects.” After surviving the ordeal, he happened upon Su Bailing’s secret manual. Using Su Bailing’s extraordinary techniques and secret moves, he unleashed a great calamity upon the martial world. Thus began a catastrophe that engulfed the martial world. The “Cold Jade Pendant” and “Flying Eagle Map,” clues left behind by Su Bailing to avert disaster, became the keys both sides fought over. Dongfang Yaling and Nangong Yuzhen, two peerless beauties, took on the burden of saving the martial world, one with her literary talents and the other with her martial prowess. After enduring the pursuit of the “Heavenly Net Cult” and relying on Dongfang Yaling’s wisdom, the righteous finally found Su Bailing’s underground fortress and the “Black Fortress,” where masters were hidden. The crisis in the martial world was resolved, but the young hero loved by Nangong and Dongfang, Qiu Feihua, turned out to be an infiltrator Jin Yuanqing had placed among the righteous. Though Qiu Feihua himself did not know it, the influence of the soul-transference technique made his demonic nature impossible to control. After managing to restrain Qiu Feihua, the exhausted Dongfang drifted away.
