In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, one of my ancestors, a woman of peerless beauty and talent, gathered extraordinary people from across the land and recorded their unique skills, along with the methods to counter each one. She called the book The Register of a Hundred Puppets. Sadly, more than a century ago, The Register of a Hundred Puppets was destroyed in the flames of war. The inheritors of over a hundred strange arts almost all slipped out of the Bai family's control. Together with other descendants of the Bai family, I keep tracking down extraordinary figures in the martial world, suppressing and restraining them so they won't dare use their strange arts for evil.
