A Chronicle of the Anti-Japanese War in Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia

The victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japan and the global war against fascism holds great historical significance. Looking at this painful chapter in human history from a historical and dialectical perspective, we can say that it was a tremendous catastrophe for human society, one that laid waste to human civilization. At the same time, it opened a new era in human history and had a broad, far-reaching impact on the postwar world. It ushered in a period of relative peace based on a balance of power; encouraged national liberation in some colonies; led to the founding of many socialist countries; spurred economic, political, and social reforms in capitalist countries; advanced science and technology worldwide; promoted progress in military technology and theory; brought about a great revolution in human understanding of the present; and deepened the world’s awareness of the importance of peace.
