Chen Mo, an office drone who spent years battling his way through the corporate world, wakes up one day reborn as a thirteen-year-old middle school freshman in 2003. Before he can enjoy his youth, he discovers that he’s at the very bottom of the “school food chain.” The school bully has him in his sights, and he’s about to face the same bleak start as in his previous life. But this time, everything is different. To his horror, Chen Mo discovers that this seemingly ordinary town middle school changes after dark. Footsteps that don’t belong to this world echo through the classroom corridors, someone is always sobbing softly in the abandoned restroom, and strangest of all, every morning a few lines of blood-red writing appear in one corner of every classroom blackboard: “school rules” that only the students can see.
