Siheyuan: Special Forces Soldier Takes on Moralizer Yi Zhonghai

Special forces soldier Jin Zhong fell on the border battlefield, then opened his eyes in the year 1960 in Beijing. He had become a country stepson whom everyone in the courtyard looked down on. His portable space could accelerate the growth of crops, and the well water was quietly transforming his frail body. The fighting and tracking skills he had honed over more than a decade in his previous life had come with him to this old courtyard, a place full of scheming.

Jia Zhangshi blocked the door and threw a fit. Yan Bugui came over looking to take advantage, while Yi Zhonghai put on airs of moral authority and tried to make decisions for the whole courtyard. Each of them wanted to push around the young newcomer. But Jin Zhong wouldn’t play along. If the door needed opening, he opened it. If someone needed cursing out, he cursed them out. If the police station needed calling, he called it. He would make the old foxes in the courtyard understand that a special forces soldier who never took a loss on the battlefield wasn’t going to indulge anyone here, either.

The temporary purchasing agent position Li Hongqi had arranged for him was just the first step. The pumpkins piled up in his space and his gradually recovering strength were all paving the way for what came next. Jin Zhong knew that a few fists and ration coupons weren’t nearly enough to truly establish himself in this courtyard. He would also have to make Yi Zhonghai’s lofty rules shatter, one by one, at Yi Zhonghai’s own feet.
