Siheyuan: A Procurement Officer Warns of an Earthquake and Saves the People

Wang Hexin, a procurement officer, had barely settled into married life when power struggles began at the factory. He was the only one who knew the earth would shake two years later, and his only option was to use his pocket dimension to stockpile grain and seeds in advance.

But looking after himself was nowhere near enough. The steel mill was about to expand, with thousands of mouths to feed. Ties of kinship and rivalry tangled together in the alleys, and everyone wanted to get something out of him, the newly promoted procurement officer. Worst of all, he had noticed signs of the coming earthquake but could not say so openly. The forecast, the evacuation, the disaster relief: he had to keep it all to himself until the day came to act.

All he could rely on were his position as a procurement officer, the grain channels in the countryside that people were still keeping secret, and the trump card of his pocket dimension, which he had not yet revealed. The factory leaders forming factions and the neighbors keeping watch in the courtyard could not see the disaster looming outside. Wang Hexin had to get the grain stockpiled, the routes established, and the information hidden away before everyone else woke up to the danger. When the ground finally began to shake, these preparations in his hands might be the last hope of survival for the entire factory district and the whole alley.
