War of Resistance: Killing Yamamoto from the Start, Rising with Homegrown Arms Production

Li Yunlong transmigrated as himself, and from the start found himself on the Cangyunling battlefield. No System, no golden finger, just a head full of mechanical engineering knowledge from a later era and the foundations of military academy training. While the Sakata Regiment's command post was still issuing orders over the radio, he pushed the mortar positions five hundred meters forward with Zhuzhu. Three shells later, Sakata Nobutetsu was dead on the spot, and the regimental flag was captured intact. Headquarters ordered him to withdraw from Yujialing. He pulled out as soon as the fighting was over, without losing a single day.

While stationed at Yang Village, he set up an ambush twenty days in advance: a frontal trap, mines on the flanks, an ambush by the cliff, fire along the riverbed, and an encirclement at the valley mouth, each layer following the last. When Yamamoto Ichiki led his special forces into the village entrance, a crossfire and buried explosives awaited him. The First Squad was wiped out in ten seconds. The Third Squad was picked off by a Type 92 heavy machine gun at the cliff, and when the remaining twenty-three men tried to break through, the Third Battalion blocked them at the valley mouth. Yamamoto Ichiki only escaped with his life by sacrificing every one of his men. But this was only the beginning. He dismantled and studied the captured grease gun, had nearly finished the plans for a hand-cranked machine tool, and had set his sights on the cavalry battalion at Wanjia Town as his next target.
