Meiru is an ordinary girl. At twenty, she developed a mental illness called bipolar disorder. She has no job because she lacks the confidence to look for one. She doesn't know why she's alive, and she feels lost. She's unhappy with her life because her parents never understand her. They move her things around without asking and yell at her. She has no friends, but a little cat keeps her company.
The idea of time is too "cruel" to her at just twenty-six, because it passes so quickly. She remembers looking in the mirror at twenty-four and thinking she looked pretty good. Then, before she knew it, she was twenty-six, and when she looked in the mirror again, why did she look so ugly...?
She thinks that maybe this is all an ordinary life can amount to. Whether she stays or leaves her hometown will decide the path her future takes. She doesn't know why, but there's always a light in her heart, shining the way forward. Perhaps she sees the world a little differently from others. She doesn't think money matters much; she only thinks other people's feelings matter. How an ordinary girl like her will live out her life depends on how she comes to understand everyone's motives.
