Journey to the West: An Immortal Stone Body, Lying Low Until Wukong Seeks Immortality

After transmigrating as an ordinary macaque on Flower-Fruit Mountain, Sun Lüzhen witnesses Sun Wukong bursting out of a stone from the very start.

As the monkeys gather around the stone monkey to watch, he frantically absorbs the remaining spiritual energy of the Heaven-Mending Stone, scraps from the fragments of the immortal stone left over after Nuwa mended the heavens. It forcibly transforms him from an ordinary beast into a demon capable of cultivation.

But in this stitched-together version of the prehistoric world and Journey to the West, Buddhist arhats keep the stone monkey under constant surveillance, while the Six Ding and Six Jia divine generals watch him around the clock. If he dares to reveal even a single detail of the future too soon, heavenly lightning will strike him down.

He can only abandon his reckless plan to get Brother Monkey to find a master early and patiently lie low for three hundred years, waiting for him to figure things out on his own. Using a Lunar cultivation method pieced together from his memories of Earth, he spends ten years absorbing moonlight and building up 2,600 threads of demonic power. With a wave of his hand, he summons flying sand and rolling stones, defeating the Wolf King of Tianshui Cave, one of the seventy-two caves, and recruiting him as a follower.

When the Long-Armed Gibbon stares wide-eyed and asks, "You meditate every day, and you can actually cultivate this kind of power?" Sun Lüzhen gazes at the stone monkey in the distance, perched in a tree and munching on a peach. "The day he remembers to go out to sea is the day I'll finally know I've made it through alive."
