Joy of Life: From the Start, I Faked Confusion After an Assassination to Fool a Ninth-Rank Expert

After transmigrating into the body of the Fourth Prince of Qing, he was targeted for assassination before he had even opened his eyes. His mother was a low-ranking concubine with no powerful backers, and his father was the cold-blooded Qing Emperor, who used his own sons as pawns. From the moment he was born, he was tossed into a deadly palace scheme as bait.

The System was here? Congratulations! Fame could be exchanged for cultivation techniques and physiques: the Nine Revolutions Mysterious Art, the Pangu Banner, a Grandmaster bodyguard. Every price tag was in the billions. His balance: three thousand.

That very night, the assassins struck three times in succession: choking him, stabbing him with a hairpin, and spitting poisonous blood. His infant body somehow endured it all. The remnants were clutched in the hand of Hong Sixiang, a peak ninth-rank eunuch. One rub of his withered fingers crushed them, and the old monster immediately set his sights on the bedroom. Mother and son were on the brink of death. The slightest slip would mean certain death.

Fortune favors the bold. The little prince cried, spat up milk, and pretended to sleep with his eyes closed, putting on the perfect performance of an infant and fooling even the greatest experts. Then he turned around and poured his points into upgrading his Iron Shirt, sending his System balance soaring past ten thousand. Over in Kunning Palace, the empress was so furious she smashed all the precious porcelain in the hall. Every one of her successive assassination attempts had failed, and a baby fresh from the womb had trampled the entire inner palace into the dirt.

So what if a ninth-rank expert was watching him? If he wanted to survive, he had to keep playing the fool, keep pretending to be a pig, and keep deceiving all of Great Qing into this mad scheme.
