Hunter X Hunter: Innately Vast Aura and Kurta Bloodline

Cheng Xia drowned in a reservoir. When he opened his eyes again, he was the last survivor of the Kurta Clan. Kite had saved him, sealed away his Scarlet Eyes, and given him the name Kaia. Three years of jungle training followed: forty kilograms of iron weights strapped to his legs, fifty kilometers of cross-country running every day, and a thousand push-ups. Before he was even twelve, he could kill a Shadowfang Beast on his own.

The Hunter Exam was still three years away. Kite left him fifty thousand Jenny and set sail alone, so Kaia went down the mountain to let loose. Along the way, he ran into Pokkle, shot a jungle pheasant with an arrow, and Kaia stole the game, insisting, “I saw it first.” He made it up to him by treating him to fried chicken, and they agreed to meet at the exam in three years.

On the 109th day, Kite returned and tossed him a custom-made weapon: a retractable mechanical whip that could smash rocks from twenty meters away. After two months of practice, Kaia had mastered it. When he came across bandits harassing an old farmer, he whipped the gang leader's arm clean off and tied everyone up in ten seconds. Kite watched coldly the whole time. His final verdict: “Too slow.”

On Whale Island, across a lake veiled in night mist, Gon stood outside a wooden cabin. Kaia turned to Kite. “Is this the old friend you mentioned?” Kite didn't answer. Firelight shone on the two pairs of eyes meeting across the distance.
