Hogwarts: The Omniscient Dark Arts Expert Replaces Young Riddle

The moment Cyrus opened his eyes, he found himself as the Horcrux Voldemort had left inside a diary when he was sixteen. During the long years trapped between its pages, all he could do was pore over Tom Riddle's memories and knowledge of dark magic, again and again, waiting for someone to bring him to life. That moment finally came in the summer of 1992, when Ginny Weasley found the diary among a pile of old books and wrote the first line. Cyrus patiently guided her, tutored her late into the night, and drew her maps of the castle, gradually winning the Gryffindor girl's complete trust.

Ginny lost a day of her memories and woke up to find it was already the weekend. Cyrus had successfully possessed her for the first time. He walked alone into the Chamber of Secrets, using Parseltongue to awaken the basilisk that had slept for fifty years. The stone statue of Slytherin opened its enormous mouth for him. The basilisk submitted, and the plan began: on Halloween night, Hogwarts would face the first wave of petrifications. Tom Riddle's name gleamed in the trophy room; in Dumbledore's office, Fawkes the phoenix tilted his head toward the window. The headmaster had yet to realize that an opponent more troublesome than the original Dark Lord had awakened.
