Hogwarts: What Do You Mean Your Name Is the Killing Curse?

Avada Kedavra, a transmigrant who grew up in a London orphanage, possesses a unique magical sense: he can see the structure, patterns, and flow of all magic. On his eleventh birthday, Dumbledore personally delivers his acceptance letter, then takes him to the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic. It turns out that ten years ago, the Department of Mysteries registered a Muggle abandoned baby under the name "Avada Kedavra" while tracking the Killing Curse. That baby was him. They sign a magical contract on the spot: three thousand Galleons in compensation, full tuition support, and preferential hiring rights.

At Ollivander's, Avada tries more than a dozen wands, and every single one fits him perfectly, leaving the master wandmaker questioning his sanity. On the Hogwarts Express, pure-blood Baron Shafiq apologizes in advance for Slytherin's bad reputation, while Cho Chang discusses everything from the distribution of Asian wizards to the evolution of Fantastic Beasts. The carriage is packed with far more knowledge than an ordinary group of first-years would have. When the train arrives and the Sorting Hat begins to speak, Avada casts Muffliato on himself instead. It's not that the song is bad: he can already see the intricate curse woven around the hat.
