Genshin Impact: From the Start, I Stared Down a God and Farmed Diamond Chests

The first thing Xia Zhi sees after transmigrating to Teyvat is a god staring back at him. Warnings of divine erosion go haywire, his stress level shoots to 200, and he goes blind on the spot. But before his mind can collapse, he forces the diamond progress bar all the way to the top, unlocking Wings of Radiance, light magic, spatial teleportation, and the affection of the flying races.

In the forest, he comes across an injured white crane. One cast of Detect Evil reveals a dazzling golden aura of merit all over her. Xia Zhi casts healing spells on her day after day until the gold progress bar fills up and unlocks the Blazing Sun Furnace. In the middle of the night, the crane shields him from the wind with her wings. The next day, she brings back a lotus pod in her beak. The man and crane travel together: he mooches meals, she gets treated, and the System takes care of opening treasure chests.

But Xia Zhi doesn't know that this crane is Cloud Retainer. She has lived for a thousand years, can't understand what he says, can't make sense of his clothes, and can't even analyze his techniques. Liyue Harbor is near, and she should leave. Xia Zhi leans by the campfire, buries his face in her feathers, and sleeps deeply and soundly. As the morning light falls on his unfocused gray eyes, she watches him quietly for a long time. The immortal opens the shop with an expressionless face and searches for a Shape-shifting Pill. Stop running that shop. I'll take care of you from now on.
