Chinese Showbiz: Blind-Box Movie Shoots, Winning the Palme d'Or!

Eighteen-year-old Gu Yiyan is reborn in the year 2000 and binds himself to the Film Blind Box System. Make an arthouse film to open a green box, make a commercial film to open a blue one, and win the Palme d'Or to unlock a golden legend!

From the start, he makes a short film called Time Code for less than $20,000, yet it gets the entire Cannes jury to rise and applaud. A third-year cinematography student at the Beijing Film Academy, he has such powerful connections that Han Sanping calls him personally: "You really brought home the trophy, you little rascal?"

The domestic media goes wild, and the authorities rally behind him to build momentum: Gu Yiyan is the leading figure of the new generation of directors! But no one knows that his golden blind box has already given him the complete Avatar production package. Cameron, sorry, your sci-fi masterpiece belongs to me now.

Dressed in custom Chanel, he dazzles on the red carpet in a dragon-patterned suit. Zhou Xun and Chen Kun call him "Director Gu," while Jia Zhangke calls him "junior." While others are still worrying about investment, he's already used future technology from a blind box to make The Wandering Earth ahead of its time. Once all the golden blind boxes are open, Chinese-language cinema will be turned upside down.
