Film and TV: A Portal Connects to Miss Wang's Bedroom, Letting Me Travel Across Worlds

Synopsis: Su Yu wakes up to find that the bedroom wall has disappeared. A woman in pajamas is lying on the bed next door, glaring at him and shouting, “How did you end up in my house?”

He recognizes her: Miss Wang from Blossoms Shanghai, a foreign trade employee at Shanghai's Bund 27 in 1987. They are separated by a bed and thirty-seven years.

Even more absurdly, only the two of them can see each other. The people in their respective worlds seem to exist in parallel spaces, completely unaware of one another.

Su Yu makes up his mind on the spot: time-travel trade is on! He trades old machine tools from 2024 for rare earths and coal from 1987, buys up fifty million dollars' worth of old banknotes for thirty cents on the dollar, and spends half a million dollars to secure a long-term suite in the Sassoon House at the Peace Hotel.

Miss Wang is summoned to the sixth floor for tea, Section Chief Jinhua shifts the blame like a pro, and Uncle Ye frowns when he runs into them at the door. Su Yu, meanwhile, arranges a Siamese identity for her: “From now on, your name is Chayana. You're the daughter of a powerful family. It doesn't matter if you can't speak Siamese.”

When paparazzi surround “Tang Yan” at the Oriental Pearl Tower, Miss Wang presses her palms together and says, “Sawasdee ka.” The whole crowd falls silent.
