I Slay Gods and Buddhas with an Ordinary Sword

There is a supreme path of cultivation in this world: guide the Dao with qi and ascend to immortality through the arts.

Yet few have ever used their own bodies as a furnace and their hearts as a sword, grinding away eighteen years of dust to forge an edge that refuses to bow to heaven or earth.

Chen Xuan was born in the desolate Dust Continent, carrying a body forsaken by heaven. Everyone said his constitution was rotten and the Great Dao beyond his reach, that he was fated to remain an ant in the mud.

He neither argued nor struggled for recognition. Beneath the broken walls of a ruined temple, he gripped a rusted sword and swung it thirty thousand times a day. He asked nothing of the immortal path or the future, only whether the sword in his hand was hard enough, and whether the conviction in his heart was true enough.

When the System awakened, he learned that Heaven's Abandonment was no abandonment at all: his body, the Myriad Paths Sword Physique, had merely sealed itself away.

Then the rusted sword was honed, and his dusty heart found its purpose.

He wielded his sword in obscurity, never doing wrong in secret and never shying from powerful foes;

Before the gathered geniuses, he drew his sword without bowing to anyone or relying on anyone's influence.

When sects came for him, he used his sword to shatter their gates;

When demons from beyond the realms invaded, he used his sword to cleanse the cosmos;

When the Heavenly Dao bound people with rules and drove them with fate, he used his sword to cut a path to heaven, free of rules and convention, walking it alone.

Along the way, beauties accompanied him, ten thousand swords followed him, white bones paved his path, and his sword intent endured.
