Great Ming: I Defy Fate and Become the Emperor of a Fallen Dynasty

When Chen Yu opened his eyes in 2026, the tearful face of the eunuch Wang Cheng'en was before him, and Li Zicheng's army of 300,000 stood below the city walls.

The nobles at court all claimed to be broke. The imperial treasury held only a few scraps of silver, and no troops had come to the capital's aid. The empire had just three days left to live.

Chen Yu did not hang himself.

He shut the palace doors.

"I hear none of you have any silver at home?"

That night, seventeen noble families were executed to the last member, and thirty million taels of silver were added to the imperial treasury. The entire capital trembled in a sea of blood.

"I don't want loyal ministers, honest officials, or the gentry's affection. I want only one thing..."

"A Ming dynasty that survives."

From flintlock rifles to steam engines, from Desheng Gate to the west coast of North America, from being cursed by millions to envoys from every nation paying tribute...

It took him forty years to turn a dynasty rotten to the core into an empire spanning half the globe, one on which the sun never set.

"While he was alive, everyone cursed him. After he died, no one ever dared look down on this country again."
