The Abyss

A criminal police force in one city forms an anti-fraud squad dedicated to solving and cracking down on new types of crime. The recruits are all university students in their twenties, and a female police academy student of the same age is appointed squad leader. This novel celebrates the noble character of the criminal police: their fearlessness in the face of danger, their righteousness, their selfless courage, their commitment to ridding the people of evil, and their willingness to lay down their lives. At the same time, its portrayal of the officers' families shows that while the officers risk their lives confronting vicious enemies, their families face danger and threats too. It reminds people to respect the sacrifices the criminal police make for the public, as well as the sacrifices their families make for the police force and the contributions they make to society.
