Great Ming: The Hongwu Emperor Is About to Launch a Northern Campaign, but the Mongol Yuan Has Already Fallen

January, 1368

After Zhu Yuanzhang successively defeated Chen Youliang and Zhang Shicheng, he ascended the throne in Nanjing and became emperor.

He then prepared to launch a northern campaign against the Mongol Yuan.

had taken its place sometime in the past.

With the fate of the realm at stake, the Ming army chose not to call off its northern campaign.

The 250,000-strong northern expedition army commanded by Xu Da had been routed in a single battle, and the Ming army's most elite troops had been disarmed en masse.

Xu Da, Chang Yuchun, and all the other northern campaign generals had been captured.

Meanwhile, a delegation from Datong in the north quietly appeared outside Yingtian City...
