Great Ming: From Abandoned Royal Heir to Tyrant

In the sixth year of the Chenghua era of the Ming dynasty, Consort Wan held unchecked power in the imperial harem.

For years, whenever a consort became pregnant, Consort Wan had her secretly killed by agents of the Western Depot.

But even the most careful plans can have a slip. With a group of eunuchs making arrangements, the newborn prince Zhu Youtang was secretly smuggled out of the palace.

In the eighteenth year of the Chenghua era, Zhu Tang had been in the Ming dynasty for over a year since transmigrating here.

Over the past year, he had witnessed the corruption and decay of the Ming court with his own eyes. The vast empire had been visibly declining ever since the Tumu Crisis.

Land was being monopolized, and military discipline was in shambles. The Eastern and Western Depots framed loyal officials, while local authorities sold official posts to the highest bidders.

Zhu Tang felt it was time to do something for this country.

But just as he was preparing to make his mark, a crowd of civil and military officials suddenly rushed into his home and cried out, "We humble servants welcome the Crown Prince back to the palace to inherit the throne!"
