Slay Qin

Is Chapter 399 the end?

The author has really written this book very well. He knows the Qin Dynasty very well, and his grades should not be so bad. I feel that the title and introduction of the book look a little like white text, but readers who do not have certain knowledge of the contents of the book will definitely think that many of them are made up by the author himself.

After reading Brother Tinghai's comments, I saw that he has been vigorously defending that Qin Shihuang Yingzheng only burned the historical records of various countries, rather than burning all the books of the world. My brother quoted a lot from historical records and translated them into modern texts. Haha, I will use the words you quoted to discuss this issue with you: The following is the original text of Brother Tinghai: "Li Si said: "The three emperors and five emperors each have their own methods of governing the country, and they all do it well. This is because they can use different policies according to the general trend of the world. Now your majesty has created great achievements and made contributions to the world. The foolish Confucian scholars do not understand the reason. Chunyu Yue used the three emperors and five emperors to For example, is this worth following? At that time, the princes were fighting and everyone wanted to attract scholars from all over the world. Now the world has been settled, the country is governed by law, the people are devoted to agriculture and industry, and intellectuals must study law. This is the right way. Instead, I used ancient examples to say that what is happening now is misleading the people. I risk my life to persuade the emperor: In the past, the world was in chaos, and each of them insisted on his own opinions. Only then did the princes rise together. They all used ancient examples to talk about things. None of the rhetoric is useful. Everyone respects the mess. Academics, not the country's system. If the emperor unified the world, he should unify his thoughts... I request: If the history written by our dynasty is not burned, unless it is the duty of the doctor, anyone in the world who dares to collect poetry and books from hundreds of schools of thought should be burned by the local officials..." Li Silali talked a lot, but the core content was only one, that is, we should favor the present over the past, and not use the past to replace the present. For this reason, he suggested burning books and taking strict measures to implement it. Note that what Li Si wants to burn are historical works other than "Qin Ji", and he does not suggest that Qin Shihuang burn all the Confucian "Book of Songs" and "Book of Books" as well as the books of hundreds of schools of thought. In addition, this matter was also mentioned in "Historical Records: Biography of Li Si". Sima Qian quoted Li Si as saying: "I asked all those who have literature, poetry, calligraphy, and hundreds of languages to remove them and order them to leave in thirty days. Cheng Dan. Those who do not want to go away are books on medicine, divination, divination, and tree planting. If you want to learn from them, you should take officials as your teachers." Li Si only used the word "go" for those poems and books, and did not definitely "burn" them. Immediately following this passage, there is another sentence: "The First Emperor can take away poems, books, and the language of hundreds of schools of thought to fool the people." Note that this is "collect" rather than "burn". Combining the above three paragraphs, it can be clearly seen that the poems and books and the books of various schools of thought were not burned, but were collected by the central government of the Qin Dynasty and corresponding government officials for the purpose of "stupiding the people" rather than destroying them. The above are my arguments and conclusions. It seems that the evidence is abundant, but unfortunately, what Brother Tinghai gave you is the evidence after castration! Let's first look at the original text of Li Si's words: "Prime Minister Li Si said: "The five emperors did not reunite, and the three generations did not attack each other. They each governed each other, not their opposites, and the times changed. Today, your majesty has created great achievements and made contributions to the ages. This is beyond the knowledge of foolish scholars. Moreover, Yue Yan is a matter of three generations, so what is the law? At the same time, the princes are fighting together, and they are recruiting tourists. Today, it has been decided that a decree will be issued. The common people will be in charge of agriculture and industry, and the scholars will be in charge. Learn the laws and bans. [3] People today do not learn from the present and learn from the past, which is not the current world, and confuses the head of Guizhou. The prime minister said: In the ancient times, the world was scattered, and no one could be unified. The princes all made mistakes by talking about the ancients. Decide on one person. When people hear the order, they will discuss it based on their knowledge. If they go out, they will talk about it. They will praise the master for their reputation. If they are not allowed to do so, they will lead the people to make slander. It is easy for the officials to ask the historians not to be the doctor of the Qin Dynasty. Those who have collected poems, books, and poems from hundreds of families will be ordered to burn them. Anyone who dares to mention poems and books will be dismissed from the market. Those who refuse to do so will be ordered to do so. If you don't burn it for thirty days, you will be tattooed. [7] If you don't want to go, you can use medicine and divination to plant trees. If you want to learn the law, [8] use the official as your teacher." Anyone who has attended high school should be able to read the original text of this paragraph, and there is no need for me to translate it. Your translation only translates to "The ministers invited historians and non-Qin reporters to burn them." It would be too unkind to omit the entire text. Fortunately, I have historical records at hand. The following few sentences are "Unless the post of the doctorate official, there is no collection of poems, books, and hundreds of poems in the world." Anyone who dares to talk about poetry and calligraphy will be ordered to leave the market. Those who do not do so will be punished by the officials for thirty days. Burn, tattoo for Cheng Dan. [7] If you don't want to go to the book of medicine, divination and planting trees, [8] Take the officials as your teachers." Obviously what Li Si said was: As long as you are not officially recognized, anyone who dares to own poems, books, or Bai Jiayu will have all of them burned at the Queen Mother and the County Lieutenant. Anyone who dares to write poems and books will be killed, and those who are not from ancient times to today will be exterminated. Officials knew that those who violated the law were punished with the same crime, so they ordered them not to burn for thirty days and were punished with hard labor. Only a few technical books were not burned. This was Li Si's suggestion, and Ying Zheng approved the implementation. Such irrefutable evidence, but I deliberately castrated it, and then said that I was not burning all the books in the world, but only the historical records. I dare to ask, did you not see the last few sentences, or did you ignore them on purpose to defend Ying Zheng? As for what you quoted from Li Si's biography, as we all know, the seriousness and reliability of biographies are not as good as those of the chronicles. For many conflicts between the chronicles and the biographies, the historian's practice is to refer to the chronicles. For example, who is the biological father of Qin Shihuang? This is the case. With the original words of this book and Li Si's words, there is no need for me to check and refute them! Here is some circumstantial evidence from my brother: A record in "Historical Records: Xiao Xiangguo Family" can also prove that Qin Shihuang did not burn books. This kind of record is: "He (Xiao He) alone first collected the Qin Prime Minister, the censor's laws and regulations, and the books... The King of Han knew the world's troubles, the number of households, the strengths and weaknesses, and the sufferings of the people. How could he obtain the books of Qin?" "This means that after Liu Bang's army captured Xianyang City, Xiao He first confiscated the laws and books stored by the prime ministers and censors of the Qin Dynasty. Later, after Liu Bang took over the world, he obtained information about the world's fortresses, household registration numbers, strengths and weaknesses, and the sufferings of the people from these books." The conclusion you draw from this is: Qin Shihuang only ordered the collection of private books and hid them in the hands of officials and academic officials, but did not burn them, at least not all of them. Haha, this passage from Xiao He clearly refers to the collection of Qin laws and regulations, household registration, geography, taxation and other information books for each county, rather than poetry books. This is completely irrelevant to your conclusion!! As for the brother's conclusion about book burning later: "Burning historical books written by previous generations is undoubtedly an out-and-out cultural crime, but the matter should be divided into two, and the misunderstanding of "burning all the books in the world" should be clarified. In fact, the First Emperor was not a fool. If he burned all the books, the superstructure would be completely destroyed, and the foundation of his rule would also be greatly shaken. He would not even know this. " Burning the history books of previous generations, you have already said, is a crime, so why split it in two? Misunderstanding? I'm afraid you have misunderstood Ying Zheng and Li Si's intentions? Therefore, burning poems, books, and historical records makes China's thousands of years of written history blurred. This is a cultural catastrophe. This is a great crime, a crime that is irrefutable. Together with Liuhe, Yingzheng laid the political foundation for the next two thousand years. The books and texts are the same, and the cars are on the same track. If it is meritorious. He has clear merits and demerits, and he is definitely not a saint who cannot be criticized and won praises! About "Ten Confucianism" I actually don't have much research on trapping Confucians, and from my point of view, if a regime is to be stable, killing is indispensable. Only at the cost of blood can a new dynasty be stabilized. This has always been the case. But since you have raised this question, I will simply reply: Still looking at the Chronicles of the First Emperor: When the First Emperor heard about his death, he was furious and said: "I have collected all the books from the world and have them thrown away. I have summoned a large number of literary magicians in order to bring about peace, and the alchemists want to practice in order to find strange medicines. [6] Now I heard that the Korean people [7] went without reporting, and Xu Shi and others spent tens of thousands of dollars, but in the end they couldn't get the medicine, and they were just treacherous and profitable." 8] Lu Sheng and others have been given a generous gift by me, but they are slandering me now to show their immorality. I will ask those who were born in Xianyang to make trouble for the head of Guizhou." So the censor was asked to inquire about the case, and they reported to each other. After that, more than 460 people who had violated the ban were imprisoned in Xianyang, so that the world would know about them and punish them. More and more banished to the border. [9] Fusu, the eldest son of the First Emperor, remonstrated: "The world has been settled for the first time, and the heads of Guizhou in the distance have not yet gathered. All living beings are reciting the Dharma of Confucius. Today, all ministers attach great importance to the rope of the Dharma. I am afraid that the world will be uneasy. I can only go up to observe it." The First Emperor was angry and sent Meng Tian, the northern supervisor of Fusu, to Shangjun. It's very clear. Because some warlocks couldn't get the medicine for immortality, and Lu Sheng and Hou Sheng fled. Ying Zheng believed that Lu Sheng and others were slandering or expressing different political opinions (evil words to cause chaos in Guizhou), so he asked the censor to investigate. These scholars reported on and involved each other, so four hundred and sixty people were found and killed! If you think this new character refers to all Confucian scholars as later said, I'm afraid that's not the case. If you say it's just a magician, it's definitely not right either. The word "" here represents a scholar. This word "" means "sir", which means knowledge. This is very clear in the records of the pre-Qin Dynasty. What Fusu said were all disciples of Confucius, haha, he was just referring generally, many of them were Confucian scholars. Therefore, I don't agree with Brother Tinghai's Song. Burning books is a crime. Trapping Confucianism only traps scholars, some learned scholars, but those magicians who ran away, those who cheated money and ran away, were not trapped. However, some warlocks who still wanted to serve Ying Zheng were tricked into it, haha
