At the start of the new century, China's aerospace industry was flourishing, and urgently needed high-precision technology to improve rocket launches, satellite defense, and the space station's temperature control and radiation shielding. At this time, Xingjian Company, which developed specialized aerospace glass, braved headwinds and pressed forward, witnessing China's aerospace industry overcome countless obstacles and thrive.

This novel focuses on Xingjian's independent development of flexible radiation-resistant glass covers for space, OSR secondary mirrors, and glass for the space station's window lighting system. It follows the company's efforts to fulfill an oversized order for Shenzhou 5, uncover a spy plot, take part in an emergency satellite launch, and supply components for the space station, helping China's aerospace industry venture into deep space and shine among the stars. It tells of the patriotic spirit and hard work of two generations of Xingjian employees, and celebrates the warmth of everyday life and all the things worth cherishing.
