[Special Nomination Award, Qimao's Fifth Realistic Fiction Writing Contest] [Print edition published by Shanghai Wenhui Publishing House] In the new century, China's aerospace industry was just taking off, and it urgently needed high-precision technology to strengthen rocket launches, satellite defenses, and the space station's temperature control and radiation resistance. At this crucial moment, Xingjian Company, which developed specialized aerospace glass, braved headwinds and pressed forward, witnessing the brilliant journey of China's aerospace industry as it overcame obstacles and flourished.

This book focuses on Xingjian's independent development of flexible radiation-resistant glass cover plates for space, OSR secondary mirrors, and glass for the space station's window lighting system. It tells the stories of fulfilling an unexpectedly large order for Shenzhou 5, uncovering a spy operation, taking part in an urgent satellite launch mission, and providing equipment for the space station, all in support of China's aerospace ambitions as it ventures into deep space and shines among the stars. It recounts the patriotism and perseverance of two generations of Xingjian employees, celebrating both everyday life and the countless things that make it worthwhile.
