Vast Seas, Tiny Dust

"Clear waters and green mountains are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver." Planning comes first. It is the foundation for having both wealth and a healthy environment, and the master plan for turning natural beauty into prosperity. Over the next fifty years, led by AI, human technology surged forward at a breakneck pace. But the concentration of highly toxic gases at Earth's surface also rose year by year, and the precipitous rise in temperature came close to destroying modern civilization, prompting serious concern around the world. China was the first to call for upholding the principle that "clear waters and green mountains are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver" and building "a community with a shared future for humanity." Thus was born the widely obstructed Green Waters and Green Mountains Plan.

Cancer carried Zhang Weilan fifty years into the future. Her old life had become a distant dream. Faced with the AI's proposal to keep humanity in captivity, she set off for a distant world forty light-years away to pursue sustainable development. Blue skies and white clouds, clear waters and green mountains... She would cross the vast, empty depths of space and use her delicate hands to recreate the home she remembered, alive with birdsong and flowers.
