The Rose at His Heart

Xing Zhu was a favorite subject of gossip and jokes. She was breathtakingly beautiful, radiant and magnificent, like a noble, romantic red rose. Until the young, handsome, decisive head of the Chu family returned to the country. At a banquet, Xing Zhu gazed calmly at the man surrounded by admirers, her dark eyes as still as water. Their eyes met, and Xing Zhu looked away. Much later, in the back garden, the woman everyone called bland and boring pinned the god in their eyes against the wall, her gaze alluring and tender. “They all say I’m boring.” “What do you think, Ah Jin?” Boring? Chu Jin thought, Thank goodness nearly everyone in the world is practically blind. - No one knew what Xing Zhu felt when she saw Chu Jin beneath the dim lights on that rainy night. Xing Zhu thought Chu Jin didn’t know, either. Just as she didn’t know that Chu Jin had known her for a long time. 【One-on-one romance, niche trope.
